About us

Leslie Hopes, DVM, CVA, CCRT
Dr. Hopes graduated from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and completed a Shelter Medicine internship in 2016 at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hopes is a full-time shelter veterinarian at a local shelter in San Antonio, TX. 

As her beloved Mr. Miyagi grew older and struggled with mobility, she was inspired to pursue further training in order to provide him with the best care.  Dr. Hopes studied at the Chi University and became certified in canine veterinary acupuncture in 2021. The following year she became certified in canine rehabilitation through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. With these additional certifications she has been able to enhance the lives of her shelter patients and is now excited to offer acupuncture to public clients. 

Dr. Hopes’ special interests include geriatric medicine, pain management, and shelter medicine. She enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Mr. Jack and Uhtred, when she is not spending time with her patients.
